No Earn It or Burn It this Thanksgiving

As a healthy lifestyle coach and a lover of many different forms of exercise and movement, I follow a lot of gyms and fitness professionals online.  Lately, with the holidays coming up, I have seen a quite a few posts that make me sometimes cringe, due to the use of fear as a tactic for getting clients or new members. Ugh!  That is just so wrong in my book. The last couple of weeks my newsfeed had been filled with posts, challenges, and memes about burning off the turkey or showing infograph...

5 Lessons I learned losing weight, getting fit and healthy

Back in July of 2012 if you had told me that in 5 years I would be an entrepreneur in the health and fitness industry I would have laughed you under the table....all while I was wearing my size 3x tank top, smoking a Salem Slim Light 100 and drinking a Diet Coke. That year was a turning point.  The youngest daughter graduated high school and my husband and myself had graduated to being almost openly hostile room mates instead of having any semblance of a marriage.  I was completely disillusio...

Top 5 home gym essentials

When I first began getting back into exercise I did not have the money or the space for the great home gym I have at home now. So, before I was able to have this kick ass home gym there were a few essentials that I purchased that enabled me to get in a hella workout at home for less than $300 that takes up very little space. #1   A decent Yoga Mat.  If you plan on this home gym being more of a temporary thing then I would get just a basic Yoga Mat that is of decent quality but it will not hurt ...

Finding My Life’s Purpose

It's actually kind of funny how I got started in the fitness industry and it is a story that has plenty of twi...

Half the Woman I used to be….and yet soooo much MORE!

I am half the size I used to be....well actually less than half, and yet I am also sooo much more than I used to be.  In the photo on the left was May of 2012 when I was wearing size 26 shorts...and those shorts were so tight I needed to be in a 28. The photo in the center is when I was at my smallest in Dec of 2014 at a size 6-8.  The photo on the right is me this 2nd week in May 2017 in one leg of the same shorts from the photo on the right.  I am currently comfortably in a size 10.  My size k...

Finding Time for Exercise

Daylight savings time is coming up quick and many of us live in an area where we have to set our clocks an hour earlier!!  I 💜 it.  It means warm weather is soon to be upon us and it will be light outside earlier and I can get my morning walks outside again and not worry about getting run over, instead of getting on the treadmill.   While I love it, many are not pleased with Daylight Savings Time.   They see it as a time when they lose an hour of sleep, and are terribly unhappy about it.  Me, na...
